Taittinger only produces a vintage Champagne when the harvests present exceptional
qualities. This requirement is followed by several years of ageing in the cellars, ensuring a
slow maturing of the flavours and the development of length and complexity. Taittinger
Brut Millésimé 2009 is a blend of exclusively first press wines. It consists of 50%
Chardonnay from «Grands Crus» in the Côte des Blancs region, and 50% Pinot Noir from
«Grands Crus» in the Montagne de Reims and the beginning of the Marne Valley.
Brut Millésime 2009 is a very fine champagne with a mature, powerful, complex character.
It also presents outstanding elegance and finesse. Pale yellow in colour, its fine bubbles
generate a generous ring of foam. The nose offers a mellow fruitiness with white and
yellow fleshed fruit such as William pear, greengages and mirabelle plums. This is followed
by notes of white flowers and dried fruit. On the palate, the attack is fresh, rich, mature
and generous. The mid-palate is dominated by fruit in syrup, followed by slightly honeyed
notes on the finish.
