Semillon "Alexander Munro"
This Semillon is from the highly regarded Braemore vineyard at Pokolbin in the Hunter. Five years' bottle age has endowed outstanding complexity, yet it's vibrant. Savoury toasty layers add dimension to lemon-scented semillon fruit and the superlong palate has depth and interest. Drink over 5 years. Eat with grilled with lemon sauce, fried prawns. 5 stars. This wine provides an intensley scented nose of lemon curd, grilled bread, toasted almond, lime cordial plus a touch of bark and pepper. Crisp with some honey nut flavours coming through on the pallet and a light body, it gives very long finish, only 180 cases produced, drink now to 2020. Received 91 points from Lisa Perrotti-brown the wine advocate April 2010.
