BACKGROUND: Original Estate vineyard; 8,500 vines/HA; specific plot cropping at approx. one tonne/acre. Distinctive spice and layered flavours. Long and supple texture: fine but powerful. Improves over a fifteen year period. Packaging: 3-packs or 6-packs.
MARKET POSITION: Usually, the second highest rated pinot noir in Australia after the Bass Phillip Reserve; “Outstanding category”, Langtons Classification, 2005, 2010 & 2015. James Halliday (Australian Wine Companion) has rated the 2010 2012 & 2014 at 98 points. The 2014 Premium was James Halliday's "Pinot Noir of the year, 2016"!
