Syrah "Piggot Range"

Colour: Opaque, blackened crimson.
Nose: A bedrock foundation of varietal complexity and mineral nuance sits at a low altitude and offers only an elegant lift of floral perfume. Crushed rock, boysenberry, coffee and faint wisps of roasted meat engage. Airing only lifts the perfume altitude, the concentration remains trapped in the rock like foundation.
Palate: A waxy and polished complexion instantly reveals an undercurrent of terroir driven complexity. . Graphite, violets and coffee roasted meats are consistently exposed within the spectrum of flavour. Taut acidity positions the densely concentrated mid palate volume. Cascading layers of savoury character exhibit themselves on the lingering finish. This one is for the cellar.
"Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Piggot Vineyard Syrah gives a nose of ripe plums and mulberries over hints of menthol, dark chocolate and cassis. Full-bodied and youthful in the mouth, it has firm, chewy tannins and balanced acid followed up with a long finish. Drink 2014 to 2025+."
