Very Limited - Strongly recommend you put some of this in your cellar. A beautiful combination of the last two releases. The 2007 being a forward, fruit driven style and the 2008 restrained and elegant.
A very deep crimson colour with rich hues. The wine shows a remarkable complex array of aromas of black cherry, dark fruits, bitter chocolate, forest floor earthiness and pomegranate molasses richness. Layers and layers of flavour provide for a seamless palate. The tannins are quite fine and chalky, providing great structure for aging. It is a wine with the richness we saw in the 2007 but with a more elegant finish. A wine that has the depth and concentration to develop for up to 15 years.

The wine is in fact 87% cabernet sauvignon, the rest petit verdot, malbec, merlot and cabernet franc. It has excellent, bright crimson colours, its high quality evident from the first whiff of the bouquet, and built on by the palate; perfectly ripened blackcurrant fruit is the driver, with tannins and fully integrated, fine French oak bringing up the rear. So perfectly balanced, it will likely be drunk long before its natural best-by date.

"The 2007 was much lauded but we reckon this release is better. It tastes of mulberry, chocolate, fragrant Margaret River gravel, bay leaf and touches of aniseed. It's medium bodied with supple tanins and a cherry-chocolate aftertaste. Not a heavy wine. Very good to drink now. We can't help but to say it's delicious. 94 points.
